Moonlit Farm & Folk School is a gathering space for all ages, offering workshops for adults (& teens) in traditional craft, applied arts, and wilderness skills, and nature classes for children.

We cultivate community, creativity, and connection with the natural world, inviting you to live a handmade life in harmony with nature.

The Land

Nestled along the Connecticut–Rhode Island border—just ten minutes from Westerly and fifteen from Mystic—our 1860s farmhouse sits within the quiet embrace of a 700-acre working dairy farm. Once home to one of North Stonington’s main blacksmith shops, the land still carries a distinctly 19th-century pastoral charm.

Five acres of rolling meadow unfurl behind the farmhouse, offering sweeping sunset views over open pasture. Traditional New England stone walls wind through the property, honoring the history of the land and those who shaped it. Nigerian Dwarf goats graze in the fields, suppressing the spread of invasive species, while native flower gardens attract local pollinators, and provide a source for medicine making.

A hand-crafted timber-frame barn serves as a gathering place for workshops and community events. As evening comes, guests gather around the fire to watch the sun set behind the fields—a simple ritual of connection.

Looking ahead, the land will grow into a place for hands-on learning and regeneration. Future projects include regenerative farming initiatives, native wildflower meadows, medicinal and natural dye gardens, traditional outdoor cooking spaces, and restoration of the original blacksmith forge. These efforts will invite visitors to reconnect with the land, learn traditional skills, and participate in the ongoing restoration and stewardship of this historic farmstead.

The Founder

I found it necessary, early on, to pave my own path as an educator. A life well lived, to me, means days spent outside, tending to the earth. A life well lived is also a creative one. I was born creative - we all are. It is our birthright to add beauty to the world. Yet, between the education and economic systems in place, creativity is stolen from us the same way access to earth is. For me, the creative process is intricately interwoven with a relationship to the natural world.

I hold a Masters of Education from Goddard College, where my studies focused on self-directed learning, the Reggio Emilia Approach to early childhood education, and the role of play & outdoor learning in child development. Over the last two decades I’ve spent my free time exploring textile arts and herbalism. I am thrilled to be stepping into a balanced life where I am able to teach children, make art, and grow medicine, all while soaking up fresh air.

Alongside me, at just about all times, are my trusty sidekicks, and the reason for it all, two wild ones, currently 5 & 7 years old. If you haven’t already, you’ll meet them soon enough!

Thank you for being here on this adventure with us.
